Nursing Degree Programs

At Galen College of Nursing, we are proud to be at the leading edge of preparing students for a rewarding career in nursing. Across our five campuses, including our online RN to BSN program, our students learn with the same technology used in modern hospitals and medical facilities. You’ll receive personalized instruction from our faculty to help prepare you for the future, no matter where you are in your nursing career.

Here is an overview of the nursing degree programs we offer across our five campuses. To learn more, select the campus nearest you and begin your journey to the next level of your career in nursing.


1. Licensed Practical Nursing

For those wanting to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse is a great way to get into a high-demand, rewarding career. As an indispensable member of the patient-care team, LPN’s communicate with patients, reporting back status to the team, assist in developing a plan of care, and provide patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician.

This LPN program is offered at our Louisville or Tampa Bay campuses.

 

2. Licensed Vocational Nursing

For those new to nursing, interested in becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

Practical nurses land in a list of occupations poised for growth between 2012 and 2022*, at a higher rate even than registered nursing. It’s an exciting time to join the healthcare field as demand for quality and compassionate healthcare continues to grow.


This LVN program is offered at our San Antonio Campus.


3. Assoc. of Applied Science in Nursing

For those new to nursing, interested in becoming a Registered Nurse through our Vocational Nurse Program + LVN to RN Bridge Program.

This is a great way to get a solid foundation in nursing on your way to becoming a Registered Nurse. Get the degree you need to become a confident, skilled healthcare professional, that will give you a leg up with valuable real-world clinical experience as you continue your education toward an Associate Degree in Nursing.

This nursing degree program is offered at our San Antonio campus.


4. Dual Track BSN

For those new to nursing wanting to become a Registered Nurse (RN).

Galen’s Dual-Track BSN combines the 2-year Associate Degree in Nursing and 16-month RN to BSN. Students are enrolled in both with no financial obligation and upon obtaining their ADN degree, transition seamlessly into BSN coursework. For those new to nursing, this is an exciting path towards a BSN, where you can obtain your RN while on your way to a BSN.

This nursing degree is available online and through our Cincinnati, Louisville and Tampa Bay campuses.


5. Dual Track LPN to BSN

For those LPN's wanting to become a Registered Nurse (RN).

Galen’s Dual-Track LPN to BSN combines the 15/18 month LPN to ADN Bridge and 16-month RN to BSN. Students are enrolled in both with no financial obligation and upon obtaining their ADN degree, transition seamlessly into BSN coursework.

The Galen Dual-Track LPN to BSN will take you from LPN to BSN while obtaining your ADN along the way. You can transition seamlessly into BSN coursework upon obtaining your ADN, then continue with BSN nursing classes upon obtaining your RN license. If you choose to enter the workforce with your RN, you can come back to BSN coursework when it’s right for you.

This nursing degree is offered through our Louisville and Tampa Bay campuses.


6. Advanced Standing Dual Track BSN

For those LPN's wanting to become a Registered Nurse (RN).

Galen’s Advanced Standing Dual-Track BSN combines the 15/18 month LPN to ADN Advanced Standing Bridge and 16-month RN to BSN. Students are enrolled in both with no financial obligation and upon obtaining their ADN degree, transition seamlessly into BSN coursework.

The Galen Advanced Standing Dual-Track BSN will take you from LPN to BSN while obtaining your ADN along the way. You can transition seamlessly into BSN coursework upon obtaining your ADN, then continue with BSN nursing classes upon obtaining your RN license. If you choose to enter the workforce with your RN, you can come back to BSN coursework when it’s right for you.

This nursing degree program is available through our Cincinnati campus.


7. LVN to ADN Bridge

For LVN's who want to become Registered Nurses, we offer LVN to ADN Bridge options for your continued education and professional growth.

This nursing program is offered at our San Antonio campus.


8. RN to BSN -- Online

For those RN’s with their Associate Degree in Nursing, wanting to earn their BSN. Currently the program is available to residents of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. We are adding states on a regular basis so please check back frequently!

The industry in which nurses work is changing. Nearly half of hospitals and healthcare providers require new hires to hold a BSN and to participate in leadership, policy and quality improvement decisions. The Institute of Medicine is calling for 80% of nurses to hold a BSN by 2020. So while an Associate Degree is a great way to get started in nursing, the Galen RN to BSN can open doors to personal and professional growth in your nursing career.

This nursing degree program is an online program.
