Admission to Galen College of Nursing, Tampa Bay

Focused solely on nursing education for students who want to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs), Galen College of Nursing in Tampa Bay prepares students to become nurses with who’ll provide direct care in a variety of settings.

As one of the largest private nursing schools in the U.S., Galen has the resources and support to help its students become high quality healthcare providers ready to enter the workforce as professional nurses. And when they graduate, they will be well prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

We encourage prospective nursing students to schedule an appointment with an Admissions Representative to discuss Galen’s nursing programs and tour the nursing school. Our personalized approach allows us to get to know you and for you to have a firsthand experience in our educational setting.

Here’s an outline of how to get started:

  • During your visit you will get all the information you need, have your questions answered, and have an opportunity to tour our nursing education facilities.
  • Upon making a decision to apply to Galen, follow the steps outlined on the Admission to Galen page. These steps will also be thoroughly explained when you visit our nursing school campus.
  • Don’t wait to apply! Although Galen College of Nursing classes begin quarterly, classes fill quickly. It’s always a good idea to plan ahead and apply early.

Galen's Tampa Bay campus offers the following nursing programs:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing Degree
    (Practical Nurse Program + LPN-to-RN Bridge Program)
  • LPN-to-RN Bridge Program
    • Full-time days, 15 months
  • Practical Nursing Program (LPN)
    • Full-time days, 12 months, or
    • Part-time evenings, 18 months

Galen begins a new class four times each year. However, class sizes are small and classes do fill quickly so it’s always best to start the application process for Galen's nursing school admissions at your earliest convenience.

To be considered for acceptance into Galen’s Tampa Bay campus nursing degree programs, an applicant must meet:

  • Additional Admission Requirements for the LPN-to-RN Bridge Program
